Spending a little more time in Warsaw

Okay.....so we are re-booked on a flight home on Thursday. We are staying positive about the situation and hoping the Volcano takes a chill pill. In the mean time, we are keeping busy!! :)

This is Aggie's 2nd Birthday Picture! Happy Birthday Aggie! Today she started pushing around the green stroller...just like her brother!!

Everyone has to have their pictures taken in front of the Coffee Heaven!

What a curiously, large egg we found!

Grandpa and Adam discussed the fine art of using a back hoe. (I think that is what it is called) The operator even let Adam sit it in. THAT was a pretty big "little boy moment!"

Grandma and Adam stopped to smell the.........Tulips!

Just a note...I realize this person is here to distract tourist, but isn't it a bit strange?

I'm glad to hear you are making the most of your extra time in Warsaw. I'm sure it has been frustrating to say the very least. Oh, the extra stories you will have for the kids' life books! So many major Polish/European events in one trip... Have a safe trip home on Thursday!

Thinking of you and checking your blog almost hourly for good news. Sorry you are still stuck in Poland. But like Sarah said, these are once in a lifetime events that will forever shape your adoption story.
I hope the flight on Thursday goes as scheduled.
Meanwhile, my parents are stranded with us for an extra WEEK. Fun for the kids, so I'm glad Iceland has a volcano.

It sounds like you making incredible memories during the extra time in Poland. Have a safe trip home.

We are working on our homestudy to adopt from Poland. I'm enjoying reading your blog and seeing all of the pictures while we are in process. Our blog is http://itsaworldofhopes.blogspot.com/

Just checking in to see if you were on your way home yet. At least you have all of the necessary docs to get out when the airports do open up. Who would have thought.... Love the pictures - and a happy b-day as well. Fun.

I'm glad you are making the best of things! What a weird thing to happen, after getting through all the paperwork and courts you are delayed by a volcanic eruption in Iceland. No way to predict that!

Love the new pics!! I'm sure it's frustrating being held hostage by a volcano...but what can you do about that? Looks like ya'll are staying busy. Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter!

Happy 2nd Birthday Aggie!

God works in mysterious ways, giving you extra time with your children in their home land during such an eventful/memorable period of time.

May Thursday be uneventful and your family is reunited again.

God Bless!

I'm so happy to hear from you! What an amazing story you'll have to share with your kids and for them to share with theirs. Talk about come hell or high water, or volcanic ash! hahaha I'm sure Lee is missing you terribly.

You're taking it all in stride! Good for you! Happy Birthday Aggie! Oh yes! That strange ghostly looking character was there the whole time we were in Old Town as well! What's the deal! Here's to getting home soon! Blessings!

Happy Birthday Aggie!!! I am so sorry to hear that she couldn't spend her birthday with her Daddy. You really will be home sooner than you know it and Warsaw will be a distant memory. If you haven't seen the following things, I would highly recommend a looksie if you have the time:

Jewish and Catholic Cemeteries - I highly recommend this. You will want to take a bus here.

Wilanow (easily accessed by bus, I could even tell you the bus number if you want it)

Lazienki Park

Cafe A. Blikle - a nice pastry shop that is one of the only buildings that survived WWII.

Pijalnia Czekolady - a chocolate shop that sadly was only a block away from our apartment.

Mela Verde - An Italian restaurant a block off of Nowy Swiat on Chmielna

Aside from Hard Rock, there is an "American" Restaurant called Rodeo Drive on Nowy Swiat. The owner is American. It wasn't too bad, and it made us feel like we were home.

Yayayay!! I feared that flight home...all that time cooped up on a plane with a child that had never been through something like that - but man...there is nothing like knowing you will be in your own home with your child within hours!!! I hope the flight goes well and you are walking in your door with your whole family soon!
